Bermudian Daryl Fubler, first met his Canadian sweat-heart Andrea Beazley at Acadia University back in 1997. The two only began their romance after they graduated and moved to Toronto where Andrea pursued her career and Daryl continued his schooling.

The twosome, who have lived together here in Bermuda for nine years now, married at The Reefs in early October of 2015. Twenty-five friends and family flew down from Canada to our tiny island to celebrate Andrea and Daryl tying the knot. The couple were married at beautiful Caso’s Point the night before Hurricane Joaquin hit Bermuda, which Andrea claims was not a bad omen, but rather added to the romantic ambiance of the service – and a touch of humour when the wind blew off her veil! Thankfully, her mother caught it right before it was swept into the Atlantic.

After the ceremony, the group moved to Coconuts for dinner and dancing. Bermuda’s ocean blues and pink sand were expertly incorporated into the reception, including turquoise tableware, burlap, driftwood and greenery for decoration. The groom’s light-pink suit topped it all off! The newly married couple entered the reception to Pharrell’s popular song ‘Happy’, which set the mood for a fabulous -and happy – party. During cocktail hour, the guests enjoyed Rum Swizzles and Dark ‘N’ Stormys while the steel pans being played. The group enjoyed a magnificent dinner finishing with chocolate mousse tarts, and toasts with pink champagne. After a gorgous dinner everyone danced the night away to live music, which Andrea said added another layer of fun and laughter to the evening. At the end of the night, each guest walked away with a special party favour: Canadian Maple Wine and Bermuda Black Rum.

For brides-to-be, Andrea’s number one tip is to relax and, “remember first and foremost it’s about celebrating your love story with all the people who love you both”.
