Classic with a modern edge, Alexandra Juul’s lace Paloma Blanca dress suited her style perfectly.

On June 3, 2017, Alexandra Juul and Ben Wilson were married at the Unfinished Church in St. George’s and celebrated with a reception overlooking the water at Mid Ocean Club. For the occasion, Alexandra chose a stunning Paloma Blanca wedding dress adorned with delicate lace.

For Alexandra, the most important aspect of choosing her dress was selecting one that matched her everyday style, which she describes as “very classic and understated.” This particular gown, created in a modern style with classic details from the Canadian designer’s Mikaella collection, was the perfect solution. The bride notes, “I wanted a dress that was ‘timeless.’ You don’t want to look back at pictures and wonder, ‘What was I thinking?’—all because it was the ‘style’ in 2017.”

From its modern silhouette to the feminine lace and buttons, there were plenty of beautiful
elements of the dress. But when asked what she loved most about the dress, the bride says
her favourite detail was the delicate lace. “It gave the dress a classic look while the lower back gave it a bit of a modern edge.” And even better, this gorgeous gown was also “extremely comfortable,” a factor that should never be overlooked when choosing the right dress.

When it came to her husband’s reaction to seeing her in the dress for the first time, Alexandra
says her groom knew her style so well that she “doesn’t think that he was surprised by the style she had chosen.” She adds, “Before the wedding, my sister had asked him what he
thought it would look like, and he was pretty accurate.”

For brides-to-be on finding the perfect dress, Alexandra offers the following advice: “Pick a style and fit that makes you comfortable. With so many eyes on you, you want to be feeling
like the best version of yourself and not at all self-conscious.”
