Which bride or groom doesn’t want a wow! setting for their big day? Commanding Bermuda’s westernmost point with stunning sweeping sea views and set within Bermuda’s largest fort, the National Museum of Bermuda (NMB) certainly fits the bill.

Inside the limestone rampart walls are a variety of historic buildings, rooms, levels and outdoor event spaces suited for indoor or alfresco dining, intimate ceremonies or all-out celebrations. From the ceremony to the photographs, cocktail reception, dinner and dancing, the museum can provide the dramatic backdrop for every aspect of your big day.

The landmark Commissioner’s House sits high on the hill of the Keep Fort, offering commanding views of the Royal Naval Dockyard and surrounding ocean, the ultimate setting for ceremonies and receptions. The three-storey building features grand dining rooms, impressive art, mahogany crown mouldings, French doors, crystal chandeliers and wrap-around verandahs with panoramic views. In addition, located outside the front steps of the house, flanked by historic guns and with views of the Great Sound, the flagpole can provide the ideal outdoor setting for your wedding ceremony.

The Queen’s Exhibition Hall, once a nineteenth-century ammunition storehouse designed by the architect responsible for the V&A Museum and Royal Albert Hall in London, is complete with high vaulted brick ceilings and priceless artifacts. Its 4,000 square feet can host cocktail receptions or seated dining. The historic Keep Yard, encircled by natural cliffs, tropical vegetation and limestone buildings, provides a huge grass arena perfect for large tented events. And the Keep Pond, an enclosed waterway once used to transport ordnance to the fort and now home to Dolphin Quest, is picture-perfect for pre-dinner cocktails.

Please note catering at Commissioner’s House is provided exclusively by Fourways Catering,
