When New Yorkers Kristina Marantz, a kindergarten teacher, and Chris Oka who does property acquisitions, started planning their Bermuda wedding they turned to Nikki Begg of Bermuda Bride to bring their dream nuptials to life.

The couple wed at the Unfinished Church on June 13, 2015, in front of 105 close friends and family members who flew in from all over the United States. Their reception was held under the stars at Coral Beach and Tennis Club.

“Our wedding was designed around magical, romantic and playful themes,” said Kristina. “Both the Unfinished Church and Coral Beach and Tennis Club provided the perfect backdrop—old, historic structures with character, history and a magical fairytale ambiance. Chris and I love details, and Nikki did an incredible job of making even the smallest elements of the wedding feel important.”

With Nikki Begg—who also owns the floral business Petals—as the planner, there was no question that the flowers were going to be stunning. “I wanted beautiful soft romantic pinks and ivories,” said Kristina. “The natural elements in Bermuda are so stunning, and I wanted a décor that would enhance, not detract from the setting.”

“We used ivory garden roses and a selection of pale pink flowers which included peonies, ranunculus, astilbe, sweet peas, snowflake spray roses, lisianthus, and rice flower accented with silver dusty miller which I grew in my garden,” explained Nikki. “Kristina’s bouquet and all the bridesmaids’ bouquets were wrapped with a small band of laced ivory satin ribbon and bound with seed pearl pins. It was a magical bouquet that perfectly complemented her fairytale dress.”

Kristina’s dress was handmade by designer Mira Zwillinger and featured a floral design on the bustier and scattered around the hem. The bride completed the look with a veil for the ceremony and then switched to a floral crown at the reception. “The crown complimented the flowers in the dress,” said Kristina. “I loved the whimsical feel of the flowers, and the flower crown and floral cluster diamond earrings completed the look.”

Nikki summed it up best: “It was perhaps the most beautiful wedding we have ever done!”
